Chapter VIII : Grand Assault

Outskirts of Outpost 1, Year Unknown

Vegita: "Sounds decent."

Poly: "How many Androids are in there?"

Wolfsbane: "The more the merrier."

Vegita: "You don't look pleased."

Wolfsbane: "How did you guess."

Vegita(smiling): "Just let me do the talking."

Wolfsbane: "Be my guest." Vegita immediately blasted off toward the Outpost.

Poly: "Looks like he's enjoying it."

Wolfsbane: "Trust me, girl, he's the only one."

Meanwhile, Vegita was already blasting everything in sight. Three Androids emerged from the biggest building and went toward the intruder.

Android 1: "What do you want with the Android nation, human?"

Vegita(raging): "NANI..." He dashed at that Android and smashed it to pieces in a matter of seconds.

Android 2 : "What kind of a monster...?"

Android 3: "Just like a beast..."

Vegita(turning back): "Monster? Beast? HUMAN?" He jumped on the second one with a glowing fist and made his head explode.

Android 3: "Wha...wha...wha..." The female-style Android turned tail and tried to flee.

Vegita: "Oh no you don't, girl!" He dashed at her and slashed her with a slicing kick...she fell to the ground, but got back up.

Vegita: "Huh? You're not like the others." Vegita noticed, on her chest, a gear-like symbol torn by his recent kick.

Android 3: "I am Alumina."

Vegita: "If you can survive one of my kicks, you must be a worthier enemy."

Alumina: "I don't want to fight you."

Vegita: "Why?"

Alumina: "You're too strong, this isn't fair."

Vegita: "Who cares about fairness in war!?" He charged a ki blast and shot it. The Android blocked it, with some difficulty.

Vegita(angered): "Shi-ne!!!" He attacked with flying fists and kicks, connecting with most, the poor Android being too slow to stand the onslaught.

Alumina: "Ah!" One of Vegita's punches hit her right on the chin, knocking her back.

Vegita: "Don't let your guard down now!" Saying this, he charged another fireball and unleashed it, burning through the Android's armor, ending her existence swiftly.

Alumina: "Ahhhhh!"

Vegita: "Hm."

Meanwhile, a few meters back, Wolfsbane and Poly were watching the scene unfolding before their eyes.

Poly: "What did we come here for, anyway?"

Wolfsbane: "Don't worry, girl, just sit back and let him do "the talking", as he says."

Poly: "But...do we really want that kind of...talking???"

Wolfsbane: "I know...but this just might be what's happening to our friends at the other Outposts. Vegita'll go away after cleaning up this place. We just have to stay here, and make sure it stays clean, so if they send reinforcements, you'll see some action."

Poly: "..." At this moment, Vegita returned.

Vegita: "Well, girls, nothing else to blow up here except the buildings! I'll leave the Outpost to you two. If I see more Androids on the way to the Main Board, I'll smash them for ya!" He instantly flew away, leaving the two girls alone to defend the ruined Outpost.

Poly: "Why is he so rude? If not for that, he could've been cute!"

Wolfsbane: "The need for power overwhelmed him before...it shows...Now that he has the power he's always dreamed of, he can't control himself anymore."

Poly: "You think so?"

Wolfsbane: "That's what I read in him, Poly. C'mon, lets get on top of that building and have a look at the surroundings."

Outpost 2, Year Unknown

DJ: "If this doesn't get their attention, nothing will!" At that moment, the four guarding Androids came out. Two of them were recognizable.

Pioneer: "What's this?"

Viking: "A revolt?"

Pioneer: "...or just a riot?"

Android 4: "Who cares?" Lor, DJ, Trunks and DP landed in front of them, ready for the battle ahead.

Lady Lor: "We meet again, traitor!"

Pioneer: "What's your problem, squirt?"

Pioneer: "You wanna rumble, weaklings?"

DJ: "How long are we going to have to listen to this guy? Let's get'em!" He charged right at Pioneer, head first. The Android dodged easily, jammed his fist in his opponent's stomach and kicked him back from where he came, a wicked grin on his face.

Lady Lor: "DJ!" She came to him, as he informed her that he was okay.

Lady Lor: "A single one is stronger than three of us...four of them is...unthinkable."

DJ(standing up): "We...have to buy the others some time."

Lady Lor: "Trunks! I hope you're feeling aggressive, because you'll have to take care of most of them."

Trunks: "No problem. Which ones do you want me to get...no, let me guess. Number 2, Number 3 and Number 4. I suppose you'll take on Number 1, Pioneer."

Lady Lor: "I'd like that."

Trunks: "Yeah! Let's do it!" He charged at the other three, trying to draw their attention away from his comrades. He started battling his three opponents.

Pioneer: "I know. I suppose you want my head. I don't care. Come and get your prize."

Lady Lor(whispering): "DJ, you get behind him. DP, get him from the left, away from Trunks. I'll blast him from the front."

Lady Lor: "Now." As they split to use their strategy, Pioneer watched calmly, arms crossed, still showing that wicked grin. DP attacked from the side while Lor used a ki blast to Pioneers' ribs. DJ was getting in position and was charging a fireball of his own. Pioneer blocked DP's fists, but couldn't see Lor's energy ball and was blown back by the blast. Now ready, DJ unleashed his anger through his energy shot, blasting Pioneer in the back and making him fall face-first to the ground.

DJ: "Yes!"

Lady Lor: "Great!" But Pioneer wasn't about to give up. He got up, still a little stunned by the attack, and answered their cries of joy.

Pioneer: "Don't think you can win so easily!" He dashed at DP.

Lady Lor: "DP!"

Pioneer: "Worm!" He charged a blast with his gun and shot it at DP, point-blank range. The poor Freedom Army Warrior couldn't avoid the lightspeed flaming ball and was blown back by the blast, he landed far away.

Lady Lor: "DP! DP!"

DJ: "Oh my God..."

Suddenly, a lost blast from the other battle taking place nearby came flying toward the battlefield.

Lady Lor: "Huh?"

Pioneer(turning around): "What!?"

The fireball, coming in at blazing speed, came crashing down straight through Pioneer's already damaged back and chest, dropping him to the ground once more. The Android tried to get back up, but stumbled and landed on his back, showing to all the hole in his chest, electric sparks emerging from the burned cables and electronic devices. It looked as if life was slowly leaving the mechanical being.

Out of nowhere a scream was heard. One of the two female Androids left the sky battle and came down to Pioneer's limp body, lifting his torso in hers arms.

Pioneer: "...Irony..."

Irony: "PIONEER! They...they killed you, Pioneer!" Actual tears were dropping from her eyes. She tightly held Pioneer's head against her.

Irony(crying): "No...no...not you...anyone but you..." Trunks, Viking and Argentine had stopped fighting and had joined their respective groups.

Viking: "...brother..."

Argentine: "..."

DJ(to Lor): "This isn't right. They're not like the other emotionless Androids."

Lady Lor: "Yeah..."

Irony was still crying and crying, the other two Androids looking on, obviously saddened by what had just happened.

Pioneer: "...I...rony...Irony...don't...cry...dear..."

Irony(crying): "Pioneer..."

Pioneer: "...Live on for me...Irony..."

Knowing those were going to be his last words, he let his systems deactivate themselves, no longer struggling to live. Sensing this somehow, Irony exploded in sadness crying and screaming like if the entire world was collapsing. Argentine came to her, kneeled down and put her hand on Irony's shoulder, trying to confort her. Viking walked forward, toward Freedom Army's troops.

Lady Lor was troubled by his words. Although he was an Android, and Lor was ready to die to bring the Freedom Army to victory, she couldn't stop thinking about how these Androids looked far more human than the others did. They knew honor, they could feel sadness, emotional pain... they could cry...her thoughts were getting jumbled and unprecise. Wasn't Pioneer a heartless bastard the day before? Why would these Androids care so much for him then? She couldn't decide whether to keep fighting...toward her and her friends' obvious deathes, or to leave, with honor and dignity... but with a defeat on their hearts and souls.

Seeing that their best warrior, Trunks, was quitting the fight, she decided to go for the truce proposed by Viking.

Viking: "A wise decision."

Viking: "But it would be a wiser decision to leave now, because I am starting to hate your ugly little faces more and more..."

Hearing those words, Lor got the message, and she signaled DJ and Trunks to retreat. They went to pick up the badly hurt DP and they left. Viking turned back to his companions.

Viking: "Exactly why I let them go. Angered people lose reason and therefore, strategy. Pioneer, my brother, I will avenge you...someday."

Lor, DJ Trunks, and DP were flying away from Outpost 2.

Voice(Vulcan): "Excellent work!"

Lady Lor(to Vulcan): "Sir, I'd like to point out how strange the Androids acted. They allowed us to leave when they knew we were going to lose, they feel sadness and one of them even cried! And not just one tear, she was actually crying like a baby!"

Voice(Vulcan): "Interesting...are you sure they were Androids?"

Lady Lor(to Vulcan): "Positive, sir."

Voice(Vulcan): "I see. What are you doing now?"

Lady Lor(to Vulcan): "We don't really know. We could go back and fight, but that would be...er...rude, sir."

Voice: "You may join Lilac and her team at Outpost 3 if you feel strong enough. As I heard, they are struggling to survive, facing six Androids."

Lady Lor(to Vulcan): "Aye, sir. We're on our way."

Lady Lor(to DP): "Do you think you can fly back to Carb City?"

DP: "Yeah...I...think so..."

Lady Lor: "Good. Then get there. We'll go on ahead."

Outpost 3, Year Unknown, (Alternate Universe)

The battle between Freedom Army and the Androids was well under way when Lady Lor, DJ and Trunks arrived. While Lor and DJ went to Lilac, Trunks flew toward Goten.

Goten: "Trunks? Hi! You mind helping us?"

Trunks: "No problem!"

"Let's hope I can hold on.", he thought.

Lilac: "Lor! DJ!" She avoided a fireball and joined them.

Lilac: "Glad to see you. You can give us a hand?"

Lady Lor: "What happened?"

Lilac: "Well, Son Goten-san destroyed two Androids all by himself, but he got blasted a few too many times and he's starting to slow down and so are we. Fly is dead and the other four Androids just won't drop!"

Lady Lor: "We'll help."

Lilac: "Good. Go and take care of the one on the left."

Lady Lor: "Right!" Both she and DJ left to draw the attention of the Android. She quickly noticed that none of the Androids present had the Gear-like symbol on their chest. She assumed that these Androids didn't have as much feelings as the ones she had just fought.

Lady Lor: "DJ. These Androids don't look as honorable as the other ones."

DJ: "Yeah, no Gear."

Lady Lor: "Let's get him!" She charged a fireball, but lost her concentration when the Android launched his own blast at her. She blocked the blast using the energy she had accumulated. Meanwhile, DJ attempted to use physical attacks by trying a flurry of punches, which the Android blocked without trouble.

Android: "I'll teach you how to do it!" And so he counter-attacked by repeatedly punching and kicking DJ too fast for him to follow. DJ started taking more and more hits, and Lady Lor interfered with a great blast that knocked the Android over while DJ collapsed. Lor went to him instantly.

Lady Lor: "Are you okay?"

DJ: "No...but I'll make it." And he slowly got up, helped by his loved one. The Android lost no time and charged right back at him with a great dashing elbow, which blew DJ 40 feet back. Lor tried a flying kick, but the Android dodged and countered with an uppercut that launched the girl high up. As she fell back down, she was able to stabilize before she reached the Android's fist and she floated back to the ground, immediately welcomed by another kick. She was sent about 60 feet away, and landed roughly.

Lady Lor: "He's good." She slowly got up, gathered her strength and charged a fireball in her left hand, which she hid behind her back. Then, charging at the Android, she tried a few punches and kicks until her opponent was distracted from her left hand and then shot her fireball right at the Android's face. The Android, seeing this coming and unable to dodge in the melee, threw a powerful punch thrown at Lor's stomach. Both were knocked away by each other's attacks.

The Android was a little stunned, but quickly recovered, while Lor seemed to have received a few too many hits and struggled to get back on her feet.

Lady Lor: "We won't win that one either." As she uttered those words, the Android attacked with dozens of punches and kicks, which Lor could only take, weakened by the day's battles. She collapsed, the Android standing proudly over her.

Android: "Now you die, human." He grinned widely and raised his hand, gathering his power through his fingers, getting ready to strike. He started to laugh evily, but suddenly his expression changed. He turned around to see what he detected behind him, only he was too late. An enormous red blast of energy engulphed him until even his dust was annihilated.

As the smoke cleared, Lor tried to make out who her savior was, but she did not recognize the strange creature she saw in the distance: a humanoid, rather fat, with pink skin...She then heard cries of terror coming from the skies where the other two Androids were being battled. There she saw another humanoid, dressed in white, with white skin and long green hair...This new warrior quickly destroyed both Androids in mere seconds, using incredible blue blasts of energy.

Zarbon: "I have to agree with you, Dodo. Death is so boring."

Dodoria: "You can say that again."

Both newcomers landed and were quickly joined by the surviving Freedom Army warriors.

Goten: "I think I saw these guys somewhere before..."

Trunks: "Huh?"

Goten: "I know! You were working with Freezer when we visited Vegita-sei!"

Zarbon: "It's true. I am Zarbon, Captain of Freezer-sama's Guard."

Dodoria: "And I'm Dodoria, Freezer-sama's Battle Commander."

Zarbon: "Freezer-sama breathed life back into us and ordered us to come to your assistance."

Dodoria: "And so we're here."
