Year 750
The crowd was simply huge. The Tenkaichi-Budoukai, the world?s greatest martial arts tournament, was a very popular event and Gohan and F.Trunks had much trouble getting through to the main ring. They could?ve flown, but they weren?t here to become the main attraction: they were here for fun, for once! As they were making their way to the ring, something cought Gohan?s attention.
Gohan: " Trunks-san, wait! I know that ki. " Following his senses, Gohan, followed by F.Trunks, went in another direction until he found...Kamesennin!?
Gohan: " Kame-san? What are you doing here? "
Kame: " Gohan! I didn?t think I?d see you here! I?m here because my two students are competing in the tournament! The preliminary rounds are over now, I wonder how they did... Oh! There they are now! " The two kids quickly made their way to their sensei.
Kame: " So, how did you do? "
???: " Well, Krilin and I are both going to the finals! "
Krilin: " Yeah! Your training is awesome, sensei! We?re almost invincible! "
Kame: " Good! Good! Never underestimate the Way of the Turtle! So, how?s the competition? "
???: " Well, there?s not much to say, really. But there?s one guy I noticed. His name is Jacky Chun and he?s really good! "
Kame: " Be careful! You must never underestimate my technique, but you must always remember to never underestimate an opponent also! "
??? and Krilin: " Hai, sensei!! " At this moment, a voice rang through the speakers telling every finalist to go to the main hall.
???: " We have to go now, sensei. "
Kame: " Don?t worry. I?ll watch every one of your matches! " And the two kids left.
Gohan: " Kame-san, who is... "
Kame: " Sorry, Gohan. No time to chat! I have to go to the bathroom! See ya! " And he left as well.
F.Trunks: " What?s wrong, Gohan-san? "
Gohan: " One of the kids was Krilin, of course... "
F.Trunks: " Right. "
Gohan: " ...but who?s the other one? I never saw him before. "
F.Trunks: " You mean you don?t know either who that kid was? "
Gohan: " No. In our timeline, Kame-san?s two students were Krilin and my father. Now that he?s not here, it seems this kid took his place. "
Gohan: " C?mon. Let?s go see him in action. "
F.Trunks: " Right! "
Gohan and Future Trunks were able to get the best spots in the crowd to watch the show, and after a few minutes, the anouncer came out on the ring.
Anouncer: " Here?s the moment you?ve all been waiting for! The Tenkaichi-Budoukai finals will now begin! "
Anouncer: " The eight finalists are: "
Anouncer: " First match: Krilin vs Bacterian! "
Anouncer: " Second match: Yamcha vs Jacky Chun! "
Anouncer: " Third match: Lanfan vs Nam! "
Anouncer: " And finally, the fourth match: Gilan vs Jin! "
Anouncer: " We will now begin the first match: Krilin vs Bacterian! The winner of these finals will win a magnificient amount of 500000 Zeni! And now a word from the one we have to thank for making this tournament a reality! " An old dog-man came in. The anouncer lent him his mike.
Dog-man: " ... "
Dog-man: " Bark! Bark! " The guy turned tail and slowly walked off the ring.
Anouncer: " Er...Thank you very much for these wonderful comments! "
Anouncer: " Now, let?s welcome the two competitors who will face each other in this first match! " Krilin and Bacterian joined the anouncer on the ring.
Anouncer: " To my left, Krilin, who is only 13 years old! To my right, Bacterian who never took a bath in his entire life... "
Anouncer: " If you fall off the ring or if you are knocked-down for 10 seconds, you lose...Now, the first match begins! " The gong was heard and the battle started. Quickly, Bacterian tried a punch on Krilin who easily dodged it, although disturbed by the smell of his opponent, but Bacterian came back by breathing on Krilin, knocking him down.
Anouncer: " Krilin is down! Will he get up in time? 1...2... " Bacterian then used another attack on his downed opponent.
Anouncer: " This fart was sensational! Bacterian is a real master when it comes to those things! After these attacks, Krilin has little chance of getting up! And Bacterian goes on by kicking him...What an attack! Krilin isn?t moving! The chronometer is at 6 seconds...7... 8... " As the ninth second was being anounced, Krilin?s companion quickly reminded him that he had no nose, so odors couldn?t get to him! Krilin then woke up and got on his feet.
Anouncer: " Krilin got back up just in time! What will Bacterian try now? Will Krilin be able to avoid his next attack? " At this moment, Bacterian spat at Krilin, but Krilin dodged the attack and countered with a devastating kick followed by one of his own farts...making Bacterian give up the match!
Anouncer: " What a counter-attack! Krilin wins the match! He just pulverised the horrible Bacterian! "
Anouncer: " And now, let?s go on to the next match which shows promise! I now present Yamcha vs Jacky Chun! " And the two fighters came to the ring.
Gohan: " Man! Yamcha-san did change over the years! "
F.Trunks: " At least he doesn?t have those scars now. "
Anouncer: " To my right is the superb fighter Yamcha! And to my left is Jacky Chun! Are you ready? Fight! " Yamcha put himself in a fighting stance, but Chun didn?t move. Yamcha immediately tried a punch, a kick and another punch, but Chun dodged them all. Yamcha then gave his all by attacking with a very quick dash, but again, Chun dodged and blew the stunned Yamcha off the ring with a movement of his arm.
Anouncer: " Yamcha fell off the ring! Jacky Chun is the winner of this match! What a show! Chun is extremely fast! His next opponents will have a hard time! "
F.Trunks: " They haven?t seen anything yet! It?s going to be a lot more impressive in three years. "
Anouncer: " The battle between Lanfan and Nam will now begin! " Gohan and Fututre Trunks noticed Chun talking with Nam before the fight. Nam, who looks like a guy from India, and Lanfan, a pretty young girl with curly hair walked onto the ring. " Fight! "
After a cute wink, Lanfan attacked savagely with a kick to the jaw followed by a hammer punch in the back. Enraged, Nam countered with a hand chop but stopped as Lanfan began to cry in terror! As Nam got distracted by the tactic, Lanfan punched him in the stomach, but Nam blocked her next attack.
Nam: " You don?t act like a lady, so I don?t have to act like a gentleman! Now I?m going to fight at full power! "
Seeing that her tactics weren?t working anymore, Lanfan tried a desperate move as she took off her shirt and pants! This distracted Nam as much as to almost push him off the ring, but he concentrated, dodged Lanfan?s next move and counter-attacked, putting her K.O.
Anouncer: " 10 seconds! Nam is the winner! "
Anouncer: " And now I present you the two last finalists in this tournament: Gilan vs Jin! " The two fighters stepped onto the ring. " To my right is Gilan! (A fat dinosaur with wings.) And to my my left is Jin! (A kid with long black hair, wearing a white headband and T-shirt and the same fighting outfit as Krilin.) Gohan and F.Trunks immediately recognized him as Kamesennin?s other student. " Fight! "
The two warriors looked at each other and when Gilan tried a dash-punch, Jin dodged and threw Gilan off the ring. Gilan instantly opened his wings and landed softly on the battle area.
Gilan: " Grr! You?re better than you look! But try this on for size! " Jin didn?t move as Gilan threw a giant bubblegum at him. The sticky bubblegum trapped Jin, preventing him from moving.
Jin: " Big deal! So? "
Gilan: " So try to break free if you?re so good! "
Jin: " OK. " Jin gathered his ki and blew the bubblegum away! Seeing the stunned Gilan, Jin dashed at him and punched him so hard he fell off the ring, unconscious.
Gohan (dead serious): " This is no ordinary kid. He?s good, very good. "
F.Trunks: " He definitely shows promise. "
Anouncer: " ... "
Anouncer: " Er...the winner of this match is...Jin! Our two little finalist friends have done quite well up to now so I will now interview them. " Krilin joined Jin on the ring as Gilan was being carried away. " Congratulations to you two on becoming semi-finalists! Krilin, you are 13 years old and how old are you, Jin? "
Jin: " I?m 12. "
Anouncer: " So Jin is the youngest of our competitors! We also noticed you were both wearing the same outfit. What school are you representing? "
Krilin: " We don?t really go to school. Our sensei is Kamesennin! "
Anouncer: " What!? The Turtle Master!? " The crowd was stunned.
Anouncer: " You are both quite lucky. He usualy doesn?t take any students... "
Krilin: " We know! "
Anouncer: " No wonder you?re so strong! I didn?t know the Turtle Master was still alive, though! "
Anouncer: " Krilin, do you think you?ll be able to defeat Jacky Chun? "
Krilin: " Hai! He looks very old... "
Anouncer: " Oh! Then good luck to you! Well...The fifth match will now begin! We now ask Jacky Chun to please come to the ring! "
Anouncer: " And there he is! Ladies and gentlemen, here?s Jacky Chun! The match can now begin! "
Jacky: " Don?t I get an interview as well? "
Anouncer: " Er...well... "
Jacky: " Gimme that! " And he took the anouncer?s mike.
Jacky(to the crowd): " Hi! I?m Jacky Chun! And a one, two, three, four! " And Jacky started a ridiculous rap and finally handed back the mike to the anouncer.
Anouncer: " ... "
Anouncer: " The fifth match now begins! "
Krilin and Jacky faced each other silently and Krilin was the first to attack. Jacky dodged all of Krilin?s attacks and blocked his last punch. Jacky then hit Krilin with a very fast invisible punch.
Gohan: " He?s pretty good, you know...for a human being. "
F.Trunks: " Didn?t I hear that in a Star Wars movie, once? "
Gohan(embarrassed): " ...I don?t think so. "
Krilin got up, although hurt, and Jacky zipped toward him and it seemed as though both combattants had gone " through " each other! Both then dashed at one another again and even if, again, it seemed as though they had gone through each other, Krilin fell down, hurt.
Anouncer: " Krilin just fell down! Let?s start the count-down! 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8... " But Krilin got up. The anouncer then came close to the two fighters and asked them what had just happened, forcing Jacky and Krilin to demonstrate, in slow-motion, what they had done. In short, Jacky and Krilin had dodged each other?s hits and Jacky tricked Krilin in a game of Janken, and so Krilin got kicked away and knocked down.
Anouncer: " All this happened in only one second!? " The two nodded. " Incredible! Our combattants are truly superhuman! You can now resume the fight! "
Trying to think of another strategy to beat the old man, Krilin pulled a pair of panties out of his shirt. As Jacky rushed to grab them, Krilin kicked him so hard he was blown almost a kilometer away! In desperation, the old man used the Kamehameha to push himself back on the ring.
F.Trunks: " Seen it. "
Gohan: " Ditto. "
Since everyone else was stunned by this absolutely incredible tactic, the anouncer spoke.
Anouncer: " This new technique is absolutely breathtaking! Jacky Chun is truly a great martial arts master! This fight is of an unexpected quality! Ladies and gentlemen, let?s give a big hand to Jacky Chun for his incredible performance! "
As the match resumed, Krilin dashed at Jacky and crashed into the wall after being dodged. Krilin came back and tried his all. As he was going to hit his opponent, Jacky vanished into thin air and reappeared behind Krilin, hitting him in the back with a double hand chop.
Anouncer: " Krilin is down again! 1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9... "
Anouncer: " 10! Jacky Chun wins the match! We now know one of the two grand finalists: Jacky Chun! "
F.Trunks: " Zanzouken. Seen it. "
Gohan: " Ditto. "
Anouncer: " Let?s now begin the sixth match: Nam vs Jin! The winner of this match will face Jacky Chun in the grand finals match and the winner of the tournament will win a grand prize money of 500000 Zeni! May the best win! "
Gohan: " This will be interesting. "
F.Trunks: " Ditto. "
Nam and Jin settled in a fighting stance and waited for their opponent?s attack. Nam was finally the first to move, sending a dash-kick at Jin. The little boy easily dodged and kicked Nam in the back, blowing him toward the edge of the ring, but Nam was able to prevent the fall by grabbing onto the ring. He got up and looked at Jin. The boy was staring at him, or preferably, beyond him. The kid was good, real good. Nam then jumped toward the wall and bounced off of it with his feet, trying a hand chop. Jin slowly kneeled and came back up with a devastating headbutt. After a few seconds, Nam finally landed...rather heavily! He got back up again, pissed. " That kid is awesome. ", he thought, " I have to try the Tenkubekejiken or I?ll lose. " Nam jumped high, way high in the air, setting up his attack. Jin didn?t move, unimpressed. Nam then started falling headfirst toward the ground, his arms forming an " X " in front of him. As Nam approched, Jin jumped on his hands and put a handstand kick right on Nam?s jaw.
Anouncer: " Incredible! Even with the power of Nam?s fall, Jin was able to counter his attack! " Nam was blown up and fell down to the ground besides the ring.
Anouncer: " Nam is out of the ring! Winner: Jin! Jin will face Jacky Chun in the grand finals match!!! Being fair-play, Nam gets back on the ring to congratulate his opponent! Let?s give them both a big hand of applause. They were both very impressive!! " As Nam went back out, Gohan and F.Trunks noticed Jacky Chun talking to Nam once more.
Gohan: " This boy is far better than I had first thought. "
F.Trunks: " Yeah. "
Gohan: " I want to know more about him. Damned! Where?s Kamesennin when you need him!? "
Gohan: " Wait a second! Let?s just pick up his ki! " Gohan concentrated. " He?s...over there!? Hey! He?s Jacky Chun!!! "
F.Trunks: " You?re right! I wonder why he?s competing... "
Gohan: " I wonder why he has to wear such a ridiculous disguise...Anyway, we?ll talk to him later. "
Anouncer: " Ladies and gentlemen! The grand finals match will now begin!!!! We?ll finally know who will become the martial arts champion of the world!!! Let the battle begin!!!!!! "
Jacky: " You can?t win. "
Jin: " ... " The two stood in a defensive stance.
Anouncer: " The tension is extreme! Who will be the first to attack!? " Jacky dashed at Jin, trying a punch, but Jin disappeared!!!
Jacky: " Zanzouken! He?s beind me! " Jacky jumped to avoid Jin?s attack and the two went back to studying each other. Jacky tried another attack...and another...and another without success. Jin was simply awesome! He dodged every attack and anticipated every move made by the old man. Jacky quickly became annoyed by this little boy whom he had trained!
Jacky: " I?ve had enough! This attack will win me the match! There?s nothing you can do about it! I?ll win this tournament!!! "
Jin: " Go ahead. "
Jacky: " Hankokubikkurisho!!!!! " Bolts of electricity shot out of Jacky?s hands and caught Jin in an electric grip!
Jin: " Ahhhhhh! Gu gu gu gu gu gu... "
Jacky: " Give up! You can?t withstand this attack! No one can! " At that moment, Jin concentrated. He charged up his ki and...
Jin: " TAAAAAH! "
...created a protective barrier of energy around him, blasting away the the lightning bolts!
Jacky: " MASAKA! You?re THAT strong!? "
Jin(grining): " ... "
Jacky: " I...can?t believe it! I?ll have to go all out! "
Jacky: " KAMEHAMEHA! "
Jin: " Nii... " Jin countered with a beam of his own! Surprised, but not stunned, Jacky boosted up the power of his Kamehameha to create an energy battle between the two beams.
F.Trunks: " This is starting to be interesting. "
Both fighters boosted their beams until Jacky finally ran out of power and was blown out of the ring!
Anouncer: " He?s out of the ring! Jacky is out of the ring! The winner of this tournament is therefore... "
Anouncer: " ...but wait a minute! Jacky hasn?t touched the ground yet! He planted his toes through the rock of the ring to avoid hitting the ground! He?s not out yet!!! " Jacky got back up on the ring as Jin fell on his knees.
Jin(tired): " Man!...I thought...I had...won... "
Jacky: " I didn?t run out of power, Jin! I simply cut it short hoping I wouldn?t lose...and that?s what happened! "
Jin: " ... "
Jin: " You?re tough, but I won?t give up yet! You see, you pretend to have a lot of power left, but in reality, my attack drained you so much that we?re about equal. "
Jacky: " ... "
Jin: " This match will end in a few moments. "
Jacky: " Un! You will LOSE! " Jacky dashed at Jin with all his might. Jin then stepped to the left and tripped Jacky as he passed by...knocking him out of the ring!!!
Anouncer: " He...he did it! Jin knocked Jacky out of the ring with a simple trip!!! Finally, we know who is the new martial arts champion of the world: it?s Jin!!!! " Jacky got back up on the ring, embarrassed, and went to congratulate Jin on a battle well fought...and won.
Anouncer: " Here they are, ladies and gentlemen! The two most incredible athletes to ever compete in the Tenkaichi-Budoukai!!! Let?s give them, once again, a big hand of applause!!! " Jacky then excused himself and went out of the ring.
Gohan (surprised): " Jacky was supposed to win this tournament. This timeline is very different from ours. "
F.Trunks: " He just got off the ring. Now we can get some answers. Let?s go. " The two warriors left the crowd to join Kamesennin behind the temple.
Gohan: " Well, Kame-san! Or should I say Jacky Chun? "
Kame: " Oh! You recognized me, Gohan? Don?t tell me everyone knows!!!! "
Gohan: " Nobody knows but us. Here, meet my friend and training partner, Trunks. "
Kame: " Glad to meet you. "
F.Trunks: " Likewise. "
Gohan: " So...why were you competing? "
Kame: " Well, as you know, my two students were competing in this tournament. I only wanted to test them, but they?re too strong! So I registered so that they would not win and wouldn?t stop training, thinking there was still room for improvement. It didn?t work, you see. Now I have to try and convince them to go on training. They have enormous potential, you know, especially Jin. "
Gohan(frowning): " Let?s talk about this Jin for a minute. Who is he? I don?t know him. "
Kame: " What do you mean? That you know everyone except him? "
Gohan: " Hai. Who is he? "
Kame: " Well, the kid came to my island about seven months ago, saying he wanted to become my student. I saw enormous potential in him so I agreed. He told me he came from a far away land and that his name was Jin Seng. The day after, Krilin paddled his way to my island and asked me to train him in the Way of the Turtle. Since I thought a training partner for Jin would be useful, I agreed to train him as well. In the end, Jin became extremely strong, so strong he even beat me, while Krilin also became quite strong, but not as much as Jin. I hope Jin will still want to go on in his martial arts training. Now that he won, he might not want to... "
Kame: " Well, let?s join them on the ring before they suspect anything. "
Anouncer: " ...and here is your reward, Jin: 500000 Zeni!!! "
Jin: " Arigatou. "
Anouncer: " Ladies and gentlemen, all of us, here, would like to thank you all for your presence and hope to see you again in three years for another Tenkaichi-Budoukai!!! "
Jin: " Sensei! Look! I won! I won!!! "
Kame: " Ha, ha,ha. Well done, Jin! "
Krilin: " You were awesome, Jin! "
Jin: " Arigatou! " At this moment, he got down from the ring and went to them.
Kame: " So. what will you do now, Jin? Do you still think you can improve? "
Jin: " Of course! Since I won, I?ll have to defend my title in three years! And since everyone knows how strong I am, they?ll try to get even tougher than I! So I have to keep training to become better! "

F.Trunks: " Sure, we... "
Gohan (cutting in): " ...we?re not too strong, no. We?re still in training. "
Jin: " Sensei just said you left! "
Gohan: " We left to...perfect our skills, that?s all! "
Jin: " Oh, well. Do as you wish! If you want to come for dinner with us, though, you?re invited. "
Gohan and F.Trunks: " Doumo. "
And so ended the 21st Tenkaichi-Budoukai. It was quite different from the one we know with the appearence of Jin. In three years, our heroes will reunite to compete in the next tournament. Will the Kame school be up to it? Who will win the next championship?
