Dragon Ball Z: Dimensions

[Go to chapter listing]

Yo! I?m Able and here is a Dragon Ball Z story I created. It takes place 3 years after Goku met Oob. In this story, Future Trunks returns and the Z senshi?s main ennemy is Broli, the legendary Super Saiyajin who appears in the 8th Dragon Ball Z movie. Since movies don?t have a real place in the DBZ story, I?ve decided to place this movie during the training period our heroes went through before facing the Cell. For those who are unaware of Broli?s story, here is a quick resume of the movie. There may be a few anachronisms between the movie and the time where I placed it, so you should only consider the resume below and not the actual movie.

One day, while the Z senshi were having a party and Future Trunks was visiting, a man and his army came to Earth in a spaceship. After finding Vegita, the man announces that he is named Paragas, a Saiyajin warrior. He invites Vegita to come with him to Neo Vegitasei, where he will regain his title of "King of the Saiyajin". Vegita accepts and he leaves with Trunks, Piccolo and Gohan toward this planet. Upon arrival, they meet Broli, Paragas? son. Goku, who was still on Earth, is contacted by Kaiou-sama and teleports to the planet. From the first time he sees Goku, Broli goes berzerk and transforms into a Super Saiyajin. We then learn that Paragas and Broli had been banished from Vegitasei because the Saiyajin people feared Broli?s strength. While growing up, Broli became a maniacal killer and even poked out one of Paragas? eyes. Paragas found a way to control his son by having him wear a special headband. Broli broke the control of the headband the third time he saw Goku since Paragas had forgotten to recharge the device?s "batteries". Because both Goku and Broli were born on the same day, Broli got so annoyed by Goku?s constant crying that he grew up to hate Goku so much he wanted to kill him. It is then revealed that Broli is the legendary Super Saiyajin, the one born every 1000 years. The battle then starts between Broli and the Z senshi, and Broli seems invincible. Even Vegita, "Saiyajin no Ooji", is terrified by Broli and refuses to fight him until he feels Goku?s ki weakening. Meanwhile, Paragas tries to escape from the planet in a Saiyajin capsule. From the beginning, his plan was to bring Vegita to this planet, so that he would blow it up and get revenge on the Saiyajin people and get rid of his bothersome son at the same time. Seeing this, Broli kills his father. Finally, Goku uses the power of Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks and even Vegita to face Broli alone and defeat him, charging all of his stength into one punch. Goku then teleports everyone off the planet before it crashes into the sun.

In the two following Broli movies, "The Return of Broli" and "BioBroli", we learn that Broli wasn?t dead after all and that he is then cloned to finally transform into a ridiculous monster. This takes all the coolness and charm away from the character, and that is why I do not take in consideration the story of these two movies. Some people actually say that these boring movies where only made to introduce Goten and Trunks to the world of movies...

Because Future Trunks is back, there?s bound to be some time-travelling action! That?s why I now present a chronology of the story of DBZ. In front of some events appears an *. These events are either events that I have added to the chronology or events that do happen in Toriyama?s story, but the actual dates are never mentionned (for instance, the birth of Nappa). In these cases, I simply made them up. I?ll be using this calendar so that no one gets lost while reading.

By the way, here?s a short briefing on how I write DBZ and japanese terms. Ou should be read as a longer o. Any u is pronounced like the oo in room, any i is pronounced like the ee in meet, any e is pronounced like an ay, and any a is pronounced like in car.

There are some words and names I will use that may be difficult to understand, so here?s a little glossary to help the readers.

Arigatou: Means "Thanks".
Bakana!: Translates to "That?s ridiculous!" or "That?s stupid!" but can be used to mean "Impossible!" or "I don?t believe it!".
Bakemono: Means "Monster" or somethin? like that.
Buruma: Called "Bulma". The actual name meant is "Bloomer".
C. Freezer: Abbreviation of Cyborg Freezer.
Cyborgs: The Jinzouningen made by Dr Gero. Also known as Artificial Humans.
Dash: Verb (To dash). Run through the air on one foot.
Douitashimashite: Means "You?re welcome".
Doumo: Means "Thank you" (stronger than "thanks").
Doumo-arigatou: Means "Thank you very much".
Energy-dan: Common fireball. Actual term used in the SFC fighting games.
Jin: Term used to talk about someone belonging to a race or a planet (ex.: Nameckjin, Saiyajin)
Kamesennin: Also refered to as Master Roshi, Mutenroshi or the Turtle Master.
Kaasan: Means "Mom".
K. Cold: Abbreviation of King Cold, father of Freezer.
Ki: The power or fighting spirit of the warrior.
Kisama: Term that means "you", but in a disrespectful way, more like "you bastard".
Konnichi-wa: Means "Hi!". Used in the morning and after-noon.
Konban-wa: Means "Hi!". Used in the evening.
Kuririn: Called "Krilin". Also known as Kulilin, Klilin, etc.
Kuso!: Translates to "Shit!" or "Damn!". Is usually pronounced "kso!" Or even "kss!".
K. Vegita: Abbreviation of King Vegita, father of Vegita.
Ohayou: Means "Hi ". Used in the early morning only.
Okaasan: Means "Mother".
Otousan: Means "Father".
Piccolo: Name I use to talk about Piccolo?s son, his fusion with Nail and his fusion with Kami-sama.
Piccolo Daimaou: The original Piccolo, the evil half of Kami-sama. "Daimaou " means "Big Demon King" but I prefer to see it as "Great Lord of the Demons" (sounds better, doesn?t it?).
Polunga: The Dragon Balls? wish granting Dragon on Nameck.
P. Vegita: Abbreviation of Prince Vegita.
Radittsu: Called "Radditz".
Sama: Term used to talk of someone much more important than you or someone you are devoted to (ex.: Kami-sama). Cannot be used to talk of oneself (unless you think of yourself as being the most important and the most powerful being in the whole universe!). Translates to " Master".
San: Term used to talk of someone with respect (ex.: Piccolo-san!). Cannot be used to talk of oneself. Translates to "Mister" or " Honorable".
Scouter: Device placed over the left ear and eye. Allows seeing the power of someone and the distance that person is standing from the scouter. Also acts as communicator. Mostly used by Freezer?s army and the Saiyajin people. Available in many different colors! Cleaning kit sold seperatly. While supplies last!
Sei: Used to talk about a planet (ex.: Vegitasei).
Sensei: Means "teacher" (ex.: Kamesennin-sensei).
Senshi: Means fighter or warrior (ex.: Z senshi).
Shen Long: The Dragon Balls? wish granting Dragon on Earth.
Tousan: Means "Dad".

Finally, here is a little guide to help you with the appearence of the main characters.

Bra: Looks like she was at the end of volume 42 (i.e. a younger Bulma)
Bulma: Looks like she was at the end of volume 42
Gohan: Looks like in DB:GT
Goten: Looks like he was at the end of volume 42 (i.e. different haircut than Goku)
Pan: Looks like in DB:GT
Trunks: Looks like he was at the end of volume 42
Vegita: Wears his blue outfit with white gloves and boots (like when controlled by Babbidi)
Videl: Looks like in DB:GT (i.e. long hair)
All other characters look the same as we know them (like Future Trunks, Broli, etc.)

I hope you enjoy the story!
